Welcome to the Nechells Oral History Project

The Nechells Oral History Project collects and stores recordings of local people’s recollections of the area and its history.

These recordings are available to the general public as well as specialist researchers and others at the Project’s office, situated at the former Nechells Baths building. Full information about the Project can be found on this website as well as a brief history of Nechells. This is accompanied by a gallery of historical photographs illustrating the many changes in the area from the nineteenth century to the present day.
